Dear 1st grade Journal...

One of my favorite things is looking through my girls' backpacks after school. Looking through that day's work sorting through which one's we want to keep. I have two filling boxes 1 for each girl, that I put all saved school papers in.

Last night I opened up the 6 year old's communication folder. A communication folder with our school is a folder which the parents & the teacher communicate. On one of the pockets it says leave at home. So papers that don't need to be returned to school are put in their. The other pocket says bring back to school. So of course things that are needed to bring back are in that folder. So in the "keep" pocket there were lots of journal entries that the 6 year old had written from a couple of weeks. It was so awesome to look at what her imagination has helped her write & her improvement on writing through the school year. Me & DH looked through them with just all smiles & laughs. Trying to pronounce some of the words she was trying to spell were fun. There had to be at least a month's worth of work. Most of them started "I love" then it would follow with sister, family, dog, mom, dad ect... It was cute how they all started with "love". A majority of them also was about her sister how she loved playing with her.

I'm very thankful for my girls. They are so innocent with full of life. They keep me going each and every single day. I am so grateful that I am able to get the time to spend with my girls. I am thankful that my husband works & I am able to take them to & from school. I am grateful that I am able to stay home with a sick little girl if I need too. My family is very important to me, it's who I am & I wouldn't change a thing.
